Square Halo Gallery at The Trust Displays CIVA Tribute in Summer Show

by LBC Marketing

The Square Halo Gallery within The Trust Performing Arts Center at 37 N. Market St. in downtown Lancaster will feature work from “Christians in Visual Arts” (CIVA) for its summer 2023 show.

CIVA was founded to equip those called to the visual arts to flourish in their holy vocation. CIVA helped the Church embrace the visual arts and sought to cultivate an incarnational presence in contemporary culture marked by a spirit of hospitality and service.

After more than 40 years in operation, CIVA’s Board of Directors has decided to dissolve the organization effective June 30, 2023. This summer exhibition at Square Halo recognizes and honors some of the faithful artists who pioneered the excellent work of CIVA, as well as others who worked tirelessly over the years to help it thrive, including Sandra Bowden, Edward Knippers, Guy Chase, Tyrus Clutter, Allison Luce, Cam Anderson, Ned Bustard, Wayne Adams and more.

Square Halo Gallery is a space for contemporary art inspired by the Christian faith. Part of the Lancaster City Art Galleries & Museums, the gallery’s exhibits change every other month. The gallery is open 6-9 p.m. on First Fridays, by appointment and during events at The Trust. Learn more at squarehalobooks.com or on Instagram @squarehalogallery.
