Lancaster Bible College | Capital Seminary & Graduate School invites the community to two fall concerts featuring the college and community choirs, orchestras and ensembles.

The afternoon will feature John Rutter’s “Magnificat” as well as graduating seniors Samuel Scott Gross and Anna Greiner in a new composition for violin and strings, written by Gross and based on Isaiah 40:30-31.

Chair of Music, Worship & Performing Arts Department Dr. Paul Thorlakson and Director of Instrumental Studies Doris Hall-Gulati will also conduct a variety of works by composers such as Gustav Holst and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. In addition, LBC Adjunct Professor Brent Behrenshausen will lead the Percussion Ensemble.

Then at 7 p.m. Nov. 13, the newly formed College Community Wind Ensemble, with a growing number of community members seeking to glorify God alongside LBC students and staff, will present a separate free concert in Good Shepherd Chapel.

Conducted by Hall-Gulati, members of the community ensemble range from age 16 to 83.

“What a blessing for all involved, God is truly great!” Hall-Gulati said. “Having students train beside musical ‘veterans’ is a gift for all parties involved. At this concert, we will be performing sacred as well as secular music, including the movie themes of John Williams. Please come join us for this short and inspiring hour of joyful and celebratory music.”
